Love You Dad

I hadn’t seen my dad in a few years, and after tragically losing my younger brother Brian this past May, I decided it was time to make a Florida trip in September and visit him. He’ll be 83 this November, and the loss of my brother strongly emphasized that life is short. From this point forward, have no regrets. The day before I left, my dad wanted to give me a little something to remember this trip. Along with Pam, we went to this store (that’s Dad sitting behind me wearing his Jungle Bird “Magnum P.I.” shirt), and you had me pick out a shirt. Every time I wear this shirt, Dad, I’ll think of you. It was nice seeing you again.
Thanks, Dad. Love you.*

John “Stoneface” Quinlan – Finding Acceptance

The death of my younger brother Brian a few months ago finally made me realize life can be short. Nothing is guaranteed, not even tomorrow. I’ve had a very tough time accepting his death. I needed to escape for a while and just reset myself. Take a break from life and just get my mind right again. I hadn’t seen my dad in years, so I just left everything and went to visit the place where my brother and I spent many happy days in Florida. To find closure, I wanted to spend some time there living the life I lived in my youth with my brother. A carefree existence away from everything, enjoying the beach, some good food, and finding peace and tranquility again. I’ll forever be in disbelief about my younger brother’s sudden passing, but I feel after this venture, I’ve finally found some sense of acceptance, and that’s all I asked God to help me do. God bless*
